Ristorante Mercato in Heidelberg

It was ventilated regularly. We were very satisfied with the food and the service, and a special request was easily met. However, it is a bit expensive, probably due to the location in Heidelberg.

Very tasty food, friendly service and a very nice ambience.

Due to an unscheduled closure of our actual destination restaurant, we spontaneously decided to give this shop a try. Small warning: the toilet can only be reached via a rather steep staircase - which luckily was not a problem for us. The choice of dishes was pleasant, as was the service and the minestrone, the pumpkin soup, the swordfish with vegetables and the spaghetti were very tasty and prepared to the point. The price-performance ratio was more than adequate. Always my pleasure.

The food is mediocre at best and a classic tourist spot. The lasagne and noodles weren't really through. The service, on the other hand, is great, with a clear effort to comply with Corona measures.

Overall, I was average satisfied with my visit. The food was delicious, but not a very large portion. The waiting time was pleasantly short. The location of the restaurant is good, it is centrally located next to the Heilig-Geist-Kirche, but still not directly in the pedestrian zone. However, the waitress was a bit incompetent and couldn't give us enough information about the daily specials, even after looking at the board at the entrance. She also mumbled and was difficult to understand. The price-performance ratio was mediocre. The food had already cooled down when it arrived and the tomatoes on the pizza were unfortunately not in the oven at all. The furniture might have to be replaced soon, as the tables were a bit "broken". Overall my stay at the restaurant was average and I would look for another restaurant next time.

Conclusion: pleasantly priced not enough in terms of taste! The restaurant is clean. The service was friendly. BUT The restaurant wasn't full but there weren't many guests (10). We waited 40 minutes for a pizza and a pasta dish. The pizza was OK but a bit finished. The pasta was an insult. Completely greasy and not very tasty. Not enough sauce and cheese. We don't go there anymore We paid 30 euros for 2 drinks and 2 meals.

Unfortunately, I can only agree with the numerous negative reviews. The service is really friendly and the building is beautiful, but the prices are simply too high for the food. The size of the pizza is really a joke for the price (9.5 € for a salami pizza) - reminds me of the size of a children's menu. In addition, the pizza was badly burned down (black areas) and very sparsely occupied. The prices for the drinks are not adjusted either. You can clearly see that this (which is not surprising given the location) is a tourist rip off.

Fine food for your money. Don't expect culinary delights. Very friendly lady in the service.

Typical tourist restaurant. Not exactly cheap for what you get. The pizza is average, the tomato soup is over-spiced (ready-made soup?) And the garlic bread is only moderately fresh. Probably only interested in a one-time vacation visit. The restaurant itself is very nice.

The take away pizza was delicious, it was a good portion and less than 10 minutes of waiting. The prices are a bit higher than in other pizzerias

I have been to Mercato several times and have never been disappointed! Whether pizza or pasta - the dishes are authentic and delicious and you get full. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, the employees are funny, attentive and courteous. A recommendable address in the heart of Heidelberg!

Authentic Italian restaurant with a wonderful location. The waitress was very personable and the food tasted very good and for the price we got a fairly large portion. We will be back definitely!

It was a great service and great food. Also beautiful and cozy atmosphere. There are a lot of choices in the menu and inexpensive prices. Many kinds of pizza, they were large. The dough of pizza is thin and easy to eat. The waiter who has served us was very friendly and he is such a kind person. The food were delivered quickly.

Delicious food served by who I think is the owner. He was extremely courteous, and I can't say enough good things about his establishment.

Nice mellow music. Rest rooms were ok-is. Waiter was friendly. I ordered something caprese (mozerella tomato) and got something funghi tough. Both waiter and cook didn’t seem to know about the difference. Still the dish was good. And I was compensated with an extra beverage.

We had a fantastic evening here. The pizza was delicious with a lovely thin base. Delicious tiramisu. The service was charming and friendly and multilingual!. We were made to feel so welcome. Highly recommend.

Low-class service, forgot 1 dish out of 5, forgot to bring silverware even after asking 3 times, 1 dish was spicy as hell (and I love spice but this was border-line suicidal)... and it is expensive... i do not recommend this place

Not sure how this place got low ratings. Staff was friendly, atmosphere was great, prices were reasonable, portions were great, and most importantly the food was amazing.

I ordered pesto spaghetti. The dish was served quite fast, around 10-15 minutes. Pesto sauce was included pine nuts and tasted well as expected. We have finished the whole dish; however, it would be excellent if they could add more sauce. The place was warm and clean. The waitress is exceptionally well-serviced since the front door.

We had a few beers which was a good option because being more expensive there was room. In this street it is difficult to find a table in summer on the terraces.

Bad stale tasting pasta, beer was subpar. Waitress knew nothing about Italian Cuisine.

pizza is great

I was with a friend and we both had two pizza's. Along with Beer and Radler. The service in this restaurant is spectacular. Very friendly and she was very attentive. Best service I had in a while. The food was very tasty. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you would like great food and service along with a pleasant time in Heidelberg.
